In recent years, Melbourne’s Red Stitch Actors Theatre has emerged as a major force in contemporary Australian theatre-making, putting the art of the actor at the very core of their work. Merrigong is delighted to be able to bring them to Wollongong to perform this brilliantly crafted work from the highly acclaimed playwright, Tom Holloway.
Set against a backdrop of desperation and isolation in a remote Australian town, Mum, Dad and teenage daughter speak honestly to the audience about their fears, desires and hopes, but struggle to connect with each other. Their heartbreaking need to communicate becomes achingly apparent during the course of one life-changing day.
Likened to spoken word harmony, Tom Holloway’s script weaves together humour, sorrow and drama to create this beautiful and lyrical piece.
“Brilliant… It hits the stage sprinting. It's fully formed, impressively set and finely tuned” - The Herald Sun
